What a beautiful way to introduce newcomers to our beloved Homecoming Farm as well as to the work we do in environmental advocacy. In October, 2021, 17 people attended the event entitled, “Coming Home to Homecoming Farm.” It attracted a mix of lay people, associates and sisters, even including some who had never been to our Motherhouse Grounds.
The event was sponsored by Forward Together, formerly known as Our Life Moving Forward Committee, a collaboration of lay people and sisters.
This evening featured talks by S. Jeanne Clark as well as Elizabeth Keihm, the Executive Director of the farm. “It was a beautiful afternoon hosting this gathering and supper while sharing the story of Homecoming Farm and our love and connection with the entire community of life, most especially as Dominican sisters, associates, young adults and supporters,” said Elizabeth.
“I didn’t know the history (of the farm) and the spiritual connection to the earth and to God that it honors,” said one participant. “And hearing about all the individuals involved with the farm made it come even more alive.”
After the talks, those gathered were invited to walk around the farm, mingle with new friends and enjoy a light meal.
