The bees are still buzzing about their presentation this past August! We are offering this wonderful program again on November 11th from 2 – 3:30 pm at Homecoming Farm, Albany Avenue, Amityville, NY 11701.
Homecoming Farm is home to a honeybee apiary where we have 11 hives. While most people know that honeybees pollinate crops and produce honey…they do not know that bees and/or honey appear in almost every religious text. Together we will explore what it is about the bee that engages mystics, saints, farmers and honey-lovers!
Presented by Elizabeth M. Keihm, Executive Director of Homecoming Farm, a Sponsored Ministry of the Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville. Homecoming Farm is a Community Supported Agricultural project that grows certified organic produce for its members as well as donating food to soup kitchens and those in need.
