Opening Prayer

As the opening of the Season of Creation coincides with the celebration of Labor Day weekend, we have shared a video meditation.  Pray it alone or with others as your circumstances dictate as the Sisters of St. Dominic and the Sisters of St. Joseph open the 2023 Season of Creation.

This virtual gathering is a collaboration of the Amityville Dominican’s Earth Focus Group and the CSJ Office of Spirituality. During the Season of Creation, we are encouraged to Let Justice and Peace Flow for both Earth and for persons who are poor.  Adrienne, Executive Director of Citizens Campaign for the Environment and Dick, Outreach Coordinator for Jobs with Justice will speak to the urgent needs crying out to us from the people and the land of Long Island.  Together we will explore how we might join our energies to address these needs.

Join us for the culmination of the Season of creation to celebrate God’s creation, as all living beings, land, air, and water give praise to the Creator. We gather to celebrate and give thanks to God and commit ourselves to protect Earth, our common home.
